The Hollow Crown traces the history of the British monarchy from William the Conqueror to Queen Victoria. Author John Barton has lovingly stitched together excerpts from plays, songs, speeches, letters and general gossip down through the years to tell the succession story in a light-hearted, whimsical and vastly entertaining romp.

 

English theatre royalty Sir Ian Richardson said of it: “every member of the Royal Shakespeare Company – present, past, or passed-on – has participated in it at one time or another”. We’ll be adding some WLT royalty to that list!
