Ho Ho Ho! Christmas was merry!

On Saturday 25th July, a stalwart group of revellers braved the cold and travelled to WLT for Christmas in July frivolity. Everyone joined in to a hilarious DIY playreading of 'The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Production of A Christmas Carol'. Random sheets of the script were handed out, and so there was a constant change of people reading. To avoid confusion (!!!), there was a relevant hat for every character, all labelled. The subsequent mayhem added to the general hilarity. There were some...er.... interesting nuances of character interpretation!! Interval, with much good food and convivialty, stretched on till midnight, and somehow Act 2 was never a

Review : Time Stands Still

Williamstown Little Theatre Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies Directed by Ellis Ebell Performance - Friday 10 July 2015 (Middle week) Reviewer – Jennifer Paragreen Time Stands Still is set in a New York loft in 2009 / 2010, a time contemporaneous with its writing. In a sense time has stood still with the background situation of wars and bombings in the Middle East and extreme poverty in Africa being still very much part of the current landscape, giving it an immediacy which hooks the audience. The exotic back story of journalistic feats in far flung places ranging from Sierra Leone and the Sudan to Kurdistan, including horrific events in Iraq, is secondary to the exploration of the

Our new look website is 'live'!

Launched: a new look website for WLT! Built by Jennifer Piper, it has all the same elements you are accustomed to, but with a bit of a facelift. One obvious difference: the landing page now features poster of current production, instead of our iconic street frontage. The website is not quite complete yet... the archive of past productions, started by Chris Baldock on our previous website, is still under construction, and will gradually be worked on till it is completely up to date. The archive of past Cues & News issues is yet to be added, coming very soon. Otherwise, it's business as usual. Have a browse!

Vale Ian Grealy

We were devastated to learn of the sudden death of Ian Grealy, last seen on our stage as the father in Proof in 2014. In true theatrical style, there was standing room only at his packed funeral, as the mourners spilled out of the chapel, into its foyer and further into the main foyer. President of Williamstown Little Theatre, Peter Newling, was one of the speakers at Ian Grealy’s funeral. The following is taken from that eulogy, with permission. Greals I’ve been asked to talk about Ian the actor. Through the week we received a lovely segue between Ian’s life as a teacher and his life in the theatre community. A long time friend, Mark, wrote of a rich, formative time in his childhood in Ba
