New Life Members

We enter 2022 with three new Life Members.
Following their contribution to WLT in the first stage of our refurbishments, Gaetano Santo, Architect, and Bevan Uren, Director and Head Building Contractor, BCT Construction Group, were inducted as Life Members.
Gaetano's wonderful design was done completely pro bono. Bevan kept things going throughout the two years of construction with its delays, dramas, unexpected events that kept holding things up. He obtained a number of generous sponsorships for us along the way. As well as Gaetano and Bevan, we thank Hadley Insulation, Haley Hire and Sales and Arc.
Both Gaetano and Bevan have long connections to WLT. Bevan performed in The Beauty Queen of Leenane, directed by Ellis Ebell in 2013.
Gaetano has directed a number of memorable productions, including in 2013 Morning Departure, the onstage submarine also being his design. His directed plays also include Role Play (2010), Play in Again Sam (2011) and London Suite (2016). He was also a member of the Play Selection Committee for some years.
In breaking with tradition, we deemed it most appropriate to induct Gates and Bevan at the official Ribbon-cutting to re-open the theatre.

In February we returned to tradition and surprised Judi Clark at the AGM. Barbara Hughes read the induction.
Judi has been a valuable member for many years, and has performed in many plays, most recently in London Suite, directed by Gaetano Santo, also a new Life Member! In addition to wonderful, and award-winning acting roles, Judi is a mainstay of our Props collection and a regular attendee of bump outs and working bees. She also served on the Play Selection Committee for a number of years.
